The country

I had forgotten that life in the country is so...dirty.

Before the fires started I went home for the day to celebrate my aunt's birthday. I quite frequently make day trips back to Bastrop, but it's normally for lunch/dinner with Gran and mostly inside dwelling. I always take the puppies with me so they can run and chase squirrels and birds in Gran's backyard.

Well those little brats decided to weasel their way out of Gran's backyard. We schemed for a way to gerryrig the fense so they couldn't get out.

As you can see, I'm wearing white and pretty sandals. Not at all conducive for country work. So there I stood trying move a piece of plywood over the area and secure it with terracotta pots, all white attempting to not get dirty. Not an easy fete!

But I somehow managed to not get my pants dirty and the girls were safe in the yard once again!
